“It’s amazing! I put the lights on outside yesterday and cooked in the dark in the kitchen because it was just so lovely. Can’t believe how well it turned out. Thank you so very much.”

— a cronin, hauxton

The brief for this Hauxton garden was to create multi-use space for a busy professional for relaxing and entertaining. The tiny new build garden was divided into two usable spaces - making the garden feel much bigger. Creating an outdoor dining area, a relaxing place to chill in a hammock, and including a shed and space for the bins!

The striking black timber helps the large shed and the perimeter fencing ‘disappear’, and beautifully sets off the colourful planting. Timber frames add height and will support climbers and fairy lights over the dining area. Lighting amongst the planting also extends the use of the garden into summer (and dry winter) evenings. Silver birches, ferns and grasses create an enclosed woodland feel at the rear of the garden, whilst colour is provided by Salvias, Nepeta and Erigeron nearer the house. Evergeen ornamental grasses extend the season of interest throughout the year.
