Full Garden Design

The brief for this garden was to transform a bare patch of lawn and large domineering boundary hedge into an exciting space to sit and entertain.

A gently curved wall was created to break up the imposing boundary hedge, whilst hiding a utility area. The wall houses a water blade that feeds into a wide rill, and also supports a floating, cantilevered bench.

The garden has been broken up into zones, defined by changes in hard landscaping materials which include the Western Red Cedar decking and bridge, the sandstone paving, and also the planted areas. Lighting adds interest and extends the use of the garden into the night.

Planting has been kept simple with ornamental grasses and flowering perennials in a palette of purples and whites.
